Abstract

Centralna čistilna Novo mesto, s tehnologijo konvencionalnega čiščenja, že dolgo ni več zagotavljala dovolj učinkovito čiščenje, zato so med leti 2011 in 2013 zgradili sodobno z membranskim bioreaktorjem (MBR).

Secondary title: URBAN WASTEWATER TREATMENT WITH MEMBRANE BIOREACTOR
Secondary abstract: With conventional technology, the wastewater treatment plant of Novo mesto has not guaranteed efficient treatment. Therefore, a modern version was built with a membrane bioreactor (MBR), during the period 2011 and 2013. With its ultrafiltration membranes, bacteria and viruses were also removed from the waste water, which is important the water discharge into the river Krka where some people bath. After cleaning the waste water with MBR, the water is microbiologically wholesome and there is a considerable decrease of excess sludge compared to classical technology. We have been monitoring the efficiency of treating waste water with the old treatment plant as well as the new MBR one. With the analyses of waste waters on the flow and outflow in the new treatment plant, parameters COD, BOD5, ammonium nitrogen, total phosphorous, total nitrogen as well as suspended matter were determined. Further, we established, whether the results were in accordance with the legislation. The results of the analyses for each parameter have shown considerably better results when treating waste water with MBR compared with classical, conventional technology. We have also made a comparison of the parameters and their removal efficiencies between the old and new water treatment plant.
