Abstract

Osnovni namen diplomskega dela je predstaviti politično participacijo mladih, cilj pa predstaviti odnos mladih do politike in predstaviti, kako meddržavni odnosi vplivajo na slovensko in hrvaško mladino. Primerjali bomo izsledke raziskav slovenske in hrvaške mladine.

Secondary title: Slovenian-Croatian relations between young people
Secondary abstract: The primary purpose of the thesis is to present the political participation of young people. The purpose is to present the attitude of young people to politics and to present how interstate relations affect Slovenian and Croatian youth. We compared the results of research of the Slovenian and Croatian youth. Through analysis and interviews conducted with the Slovenian and Croatian youth, we tried to answer the four research questions, which relate to the political participation of young people in Slovenia and in Croatia. The results showed that young people in Slovenia and Croatia devote their free time to political activism and monitor the political developments mostly through media (the Internet, reports). Young people in both countries are mostly active in signing petitions, referendums and in demonstrations, which suggests that they are more motivated for unconventional forms of political participation. Furthermore, we found that the reigning political system affects the level of political participation of young people in both countries. Youth is also of the opinion that the Slovenian politics is in conflict with the Croatian politics, even though the people of both countries live in harmony with each other.
