(specialistično delo)

Abstract

Metodologija raziskave: Uporabili smo kvantitativno metodo raziskovanja. Prehranjevalne navade smo raziskovali s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika, antropoloških meritev in laboratorijskega izvida vrednosti krvnega sladkorja. V vzorcu smo zajeli 50 naključno izbranih nosečnic. Rezultati: Največ anketiranih nosečnic pridobiva informacije o zdravi prehrani preko elektronskih medijev, nato s strani zdravstvenega osebja, svojcev in prijateljev.

Secondary title: PREGNANCY NUTRITION
Secondary abstract: Theoretical basis: A healthy nutrition during pregnancy period should ensure a safe, energy and nutrient balanced and protective food. Purposes of the specialist work were to determine the nutrition of pregnant women, sources from where they obtain information on healthy nutrition and finally to establish whether the pregnant women with a higher body mass index have a higher blood sugar value thus having a gestational diabetes. Research methodology: The quantitative research method was applied. These habits have been researched using a questionnaire, anthropologic measurements and laboratory measurements of blood sugar levels. The sample included 50 randomly selected pregnant women. Results: The highest number of sampled pregnant women acquired information on healthy nutrition by using electronic media outlets, followed by information gained from medical staff, relatives and friend. Pregnant women are mostly familiar with the principles of proper and healthy nutrition, but based on several answers on the meals, types of food intake, number of meals per week and physical activity it can be concluded that the vast majority of pregnant women do not follow the principles despite theoretically knowing them. The average body mass index of pregnant women is slightly over the limit that indicates normal weight. Pregnant women who have elevated blood sugar levels have an average body mass index higher than the average of all surveyed pregnant women. Conclusion: The conclusion of the research based on the analysis of the sample and questionnaire is that the nutrition of pregnant women is relatively unhealthy, despite the fact that they have stated to be aware of the principles of a healthy nutrition during pregnancy. The research has shown that it is necessary to increase the professional information outreach on pregnant women about the proper and healthy nutrition through electronic media outlets and by health care personnel in individual talks and lectures in school for future parents.
