diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študijskega programa
Abstract

CLEANING ANALYSIS OF INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER BY USING PURIFICATION PLANT |
Secondary abstract: |
The principal objective of a wastewater treatment plant is to extract grease, oils and suspended solids from industrial wastewater with the help of properly implemented procedures of phase separation in order to achieve maximum results after the physico-chemical processes of coagulation, flocculation and precipitation.
The purpose of the thesis was to present the physico-chemical process of wastewater purification at the company and to describe the role of the Laboratory for the proper functioning of the new wastewater treatment plant at the company. Precisely, to assess with standardized laboratory methods whether the purification technology currently in use is optimal for the pre-cleaning of industrial wastewater that is produced in the company.
For the quality evaluation of industrial wastewater at the a few indicative parameters were selected: control of coagulation and flocculation with the laboratory simulation test of wastewater cleaning; comparison of COD values (»chemical oxygen demand«) and values of suspended solids in the wastewater before and after the operation of the wastewater treatment plant; additional chemical analysis from the support laboratory and pH value of the wastewater at the treatment plant discharge.
Results presented in the thesis showed that values of the selected quality parameters are within the range of operational acceptability of the wastewater purification plant proving that direct chemical dosing in the cleaning process is appropriate. This implies that a part of the purified water could be reused afterwards in the company's technological process. It is concluded that the wastewater treatment plant at the company operates optimally and efficiently. |
