Abstract

Izolirana vlakna so imela ustrezne tekstilno tehnološke lastnosti. Izolirana vlakna smo uporabili za pripravo nanokristaline celuloze. Opazovali smo morfološke značilnosti delcev nanokristaline celuloze in določili njihovo velikost.

Secondary title: Preparation and characterization of nanocellulose from different origins
Secondary abstract: Lately is more and more important to go back to nature, to go back to naturally renewable materials. One of the most important natural renewable sources is cellulose, which can be found in many plants. In addition to conventional sources of cellulose recently there are explored also unconventional sources, which are often waste of food crops in agriculture. Within the thesis we studied some plants as potential sources of fibres. We examined the nettle, willow, Spanish broom, big dead nettle, alfalfa and hemp. We first isolated fibres from stems which we characterize. We got relevant textile mechanical properties. Isolated fibres were used to prepare nanocrystalline cellulose. We observed morphological characteristics of nanocellulose particles and determine their size. The particles had rod shape and their size were from 205nm to 569nm. We also determined zeta potential, which showed us that we have stability of particles in dispersion.
