diplomsko delo
Abstract
Diplomska naloga obravnava možnosti zgodnjega pridobivanja drugega jezika v Avstriji in Sloveniji. V začetnem delu najprej opredelimo pojme dvojezičnosti, večjezičnosti, zgodnje simultane in konsekutivne dvojezičnosti, dvojezičnost neke družbe ter obravnava probleme, povezane z večjezično vzgojo v določenem okolju. V nadaljevanju se osredotočamo na možnosti pridobivanja drugega jezika v kontekstu javnih in zasebnih vrtcev in šol, v mednarodnih šolah in v okviru manjšinskega izobraževanja. Omejitve se v tem primeru kažejo v lokaciji teh šol, saj so večinoma prisotne zgolj v glavnih mestih posameznih držav in so dostopne zgolj premožnemu delu prebivalstva.

Early second language acquisition possibilities in Austria and Slovenia |
Secondary abstract: |
Diploma thesis researches possibilities for early second language acquisition in Austria and Slovenia. It first introduces concept of bilingualism and multilingualism, simultaneous and successive bilingualism, bilingualism within a society and debates problems associated with bilingual upbringing within a certain community. It further focuses on possibilities for second language acquisition in the framework of public and private schools, kindergartens, minority education and international schools within both states. Particularly within public and private schools second language teaching based on CLIL method has increasingly gained momentum. As such, CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) is used as a method for cross-curricular content learning with significant importance given on second language acquisition achieved through this process. In this connection, the thesis touches upon the policy of European Union, expressed in mother tongue plus two foreign languages, which is set as a goal for it residents. In a globalized world this policy has gained considerable significance. International schools essentially stand for education in a language that differs from the official language of a given state, enabling its students to become bilingual. In this case, limitations are present in the location of these schools. In most cases, international schools are located in the capital cities, available only to the rich. Given the regional character of minority educational institutions, most future possibilities for second language acquisition lie within the system of public schools of both states. |
