analiza zaključnega govora na zimskih olimpijskih igrah 2010 v kanadskem Vancouvru
Abstract

Secondary abstract: |
The Olympic Games are the mega event, important for tourism. Some elements of the Olympic protocol have become a part of the tradition and so is the closing event, which is the formal conclusion of the games. The speech must be told by the president of the organizing committee, in this case John Furlong. We find out that speech is emotional, powerful, inspiring and filled with gratitude. The emotional component of the speech plays an important role because Furlong has admired the Olympic Games since he was a child. The most important word in the speech is the word "games". The analysis shows that Furlong speaks American English, that the style of his speech is emotional and a model of persuasion is pathos. We have found that Furlong's speech is rich with expressive figurative language. Analysis of the speech showed the usage of rhetorical means such as argument and syllogism. Rhetorical figures, which are used in the speech are rhetorical question, metaphor, personification, symbol, paraphrase, enumeration and comparison. Body language reveals more information about the speech. Firstly, it reflects equality, then dominance, hiding the truth and honesty. |
