Abstract

Diplomska naloga zajema lastnosti svetlobe, barv in osnove spektrometrije. Sledijo izračuni spektralne porazdelitve halogenske žarnice, kompaktne svetilke in led svetila s programom Matlab in PublicLab.

Secondary title: CONSTRUCTING SPECTROPHOTOMETER FOR EDUCATIONAL USE
Secondary abstract: The thesis covers the properties of light, colour and fundamentals of spectrophotometry. The first chapter of the thesis presents light as an electromagnetic wave, its importance for humans, and the way see and experience it. The following chapters demonstrate and explain the construction of three basic spectrophotometers and a comparison between them, followed by Matlab and PublicLab spectral distribution calculations of Halogen, CFL, and LED light bulbs. Additional emphasis is put on explaining the light bulbs and their impact on our well-being as well as the importance of colour, colour spaces and their representation in colour charts. Further calculations of standardised color values are being made according to CIE RGB and converted to CIE XYZ values. The school spectrophotometer is used to show CIE xyY 1931 colour space and determine the white point. The recorded values are being compared along with explanation for possible improvements made to the spectromophotometer.
