Abstract

V svojem diplomskem delu sem pripravila in karakterizirala različne koordinacijske spojine cinka(II) s kinaldinatom. Najprej sem iz cinkovega(II) acetata pripravila spojino s koordiniranim kinaldinatom in metanolom, [Zn(kinal)2(MeOH)2]. To je bila tudi moja izhodna spojina. Koordinirani metanol sem poskušala v različnih topilih zamenjati s 4-hidroksimetilpiridinom, piridinom, 3-hidroksipiridinom ali piridin N-oksidom. Reakciji s prvima dvema ligandoma (L= 4-hmpy, py) sta uspeli: [Zn(kinal)2(MeOH)2] + 2L  [Zn(kinal)2L2] + 2MeOH Pri reakcijah s 3-hidroksipiridinom ali piridin N-oksidom pa nastane produkt s koordinirano vodo, [Zn(kinal)2(H2O)].

Secondary abstract: A series of zinc(II) complexes with quinaldinate were prepared and structurally characterized. A starting material, [Zn(kinal)2(MeOH)2], was prepared upon the reaction of zinc(II) acetate with quinaldic acid. The main aim was to replace the coordinated methanol with 4-hydroxymethylpyridine, pyridine, 3-hydroxypyridine or pyridine N-oxide. Reactions with the first two ligands (L=4-hmpy, py) were met with success: [Zn(kinal)2(MeOH)2] + 2L  [Zn(kinal)2L2] + 2MeOH Reactions with 3-hydroxypyridine or pyridine N-oxide resulted in a complex with coordinated water, [Zn(kinal)2(H2O)].
