Abstract

Problem so finančna sredstva.

Secondary title: ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES OF SLIVNICA LAKE
Secondary abstract: The main purpose of damming Lake Slivnica was to maintain the water and thus protect the local area from flooding. Eventually the primary function of protecting the area has been replaced by some others. Today the lake is full of fish, crabs, shells and also other numerous living organisms such as birds and lush vegetation that is found in the nearby. Like elsewhere, also living organisms here are endangered, so in our thesis we focused on poisoning the lake. Even though it happened only once, the consequences were very serious. Tremendous poisoning affected the pond which fish are raised in, including the smaller stream pouring into the lake. Poisoning was intentional and the delinquent will probably never be found. Lake rehabilitation lasted for a long time, the Fishing family Voglajna involved itself a lot in sending requests for help, but were rejected many times. Another big problem concerning the surroundings of the lake, that people are much more aware of are the frogs. The frogs are endangered due to heavy traffic on the regional road, but have to cross it on the way from their living places to the lake. Since everything is connected to financial means, some volunteers came up with some other idea. To prevent frogs from dying they gather yearly in order to put up some fences by the road. Besides all there are also some canals under the road that are enable the frogs to reach their aim. Despite the effort, lots of frogs still end up their lives on the road. The solution of this problem could be placing in longer fences along the road and more canals under the road. Also these fences should be checked daily because of possibility tearing apart.
