diplomska naloga

Abstract

Secondary title: Comparison of methods for calculation of loads on constructions in coastal engineering
Secondary abstract: In the thesis we examined and compared the four most common methods used to calculate pressures due to dynamic loads of waves on constructions in the coastal engineering: the methods Sainflou, Goda, Minikin and Takahashi. In the thesis we first describe the theoretical background of all four methods. In the second part we elaborate a simple model using MS Excel software tool, which can be used by each of the recognized methods to calculate the pressures on a coastal construction at different wave parameters and characteristics of the coast. The obtained results are logical and expected with regard to the theoretical background of all methods under consideration. The developed model represents a useful tool for determining pressures due to waves in coastal engineering that can serve the designers, as well as in the teaching/learning process at UL FGG.
