diplomsko delo univerzitetnega študija
Abstract
Ko do tovrstnega dejanja pride v družini, v kateri bi morala veljati brezpogojna ljubezen, zaupanje in občutek varnosti, dejanje postane še okrutnejše.

This diploma thesis discusses one of the most serious criminal offences, domestic murder in Croatia. According to both Slovenian and Croatian law, murder is categorised as one of the most serious criminal offences. When such an act occurs in the family, which should be a place of unconditional love, trust and a sense of security, it is even more heinous. Depending on individual factors, there are several types of murder. Domestic murder could be classified according to the sex and age of the perpetrator and the relationship between the victim and the perpetrator. Most often, murder occurs between partners in a relationship, which is followed by murder among blood relatives. In such relationships, the victims are usually women while the perpetrators are middle-aged men who use various kinds of violence to establish control over the victim. Women who commit murder mostly do so to get out of an abusive relationship or in self-defence. The act of murder can be driven by a motive or can merely occur in correlation with violence. In any case, there are certain indicators of the degree of risk of murder. These indicators include violence, which is mostly psychological, followed by physical, economic and sexual violence. In family relations, different types of violence often occur simultaneously. Risk factors also include death threats, the presence of weapons, and mental illness. Although these criminal offenses are rare compared to other types of crime, a great deal of attention is paid to finding the causes, taking action in cases of violence and investigating the criminal offenses. |
