Secondary title: | PASSIVE OXYGENATION OF PATIENTS DURING CHEST COMPRESSIONS |
Secondary abstract: | Survival of patients who have suffered an out of hospital cardiac arrest depends on many factors. Individual cells in the organism only survive when they receive a sufficient amount of oxygen and other nutrients in any moment. During a cardiac arrest they lack of them. It is commonly known that early basic and advanced life support which include appropriate oxygenation and/or ventilation have to be ensured. Due to inappropriate ventilation of first responders the effect of passive oxygenation on patients during basic life support has been discussed in this Master's thesis. Passive oxygenation has been performed through basic devices for oxygen application (binasal catheter and a non-rebreather mask). The purpose of this Master's thesis was to investigate the influence of passive oxygenation using different devices to hemodynamic variables. |
