Secondary title: | Dissipative elements in seismic resistant steel structures |
Secondary abstract: | In design of steel frames a huge focus is on seismic design since earthquakes caused a lot of damage on such systems. Through time different dissipative devices were developed to avoid fatal injuries. This graduation thesis presents some of them and more specifically discusses behaviour and design guidelines for three of the most effective systems. |
