Abstract

Secondary title: ANALYSIS OF THE IMPACT OF WEATHER CONDITIONS ON THE SAFETY OF POWERED TWO-WHEELERS
Secondary abstract: This master thesis analyses road traffic accidents of powered two wheelers in Republic of Slovenia in the period from 2003 to 2015. Focusing on the weather influences, the main goal is to conclude how weather affects the emergence of road traffic accidents. The main question is; is weather the leading or just an indirect cause for road traffic accidents? Weather is not the only parameter that influences the safety of powered two wheelers in traffic, condition of road surface and technical perfection also have a major impact. The majority of road traffic accidents occurred in optimal circumstances and with the optimal road surface conditions. Weather disturbances increased the number of road traffic accidents more than the deterioration in road surface conditions.
