Abstract

Diplomsko delo je sestavljeno iz dveh delov. V prvem delu so predstavljeni geografski informacijski sistemi ter njihovo delovanje in uporabnost. Na kratko je opisana zgodovina razvoja GIS sistemov. Drugi del diplomskega dela zajema analiziranje že znanih podatkov v novejših odprtokodnih programih, v tem primeru s programom Quantum Gis.
