Abstract

Secondary title: The role of nurses in manchester triage system in the emergency department
Secondary abstract: The number of patients in emergency departments throughout the world is increasing, and often beyond the capabilities of current treatment for all in need. Therefore, a "triage" system was introduced, enabling medical staff to identify among the crowd of acutely affected patients priorities for the clinical intervention. The first triage systems were mainly based on intuition and did not allow the reliability and repeatability. In Slovenia, the problem of the reception and placement of the role of nurses in emergency departments has been actively dealt with only for the past four years.
