Secondary abstract: | In presented research Slovenian and Finish prospective chemistry teachers’ perception of their future profession and their understanding of the role of particle representations in learning of chemistry were examined. Altogether 19 prospective teachers, master level students in chemical education, participated in the study. The majority of the prospective teachers from both countries believe that the personal characteristics are most important added value of a good chemistry teacher, they also highly value teacher’s enthusiasm and the use contemporary teaching approaches. Prospective teachers presented adequate understanding of the role of particle representations of chemical concepts while planning and implementation of chemistry lessons. |
