(diplomsko delo)
Abstract
Teoretična izhodišča: Dojenje je naraven način hranjenja dojenčkov in majhnih otrok. Izključno dojenje v prvih šestih mesecih življenja zagotavlja optimalno rast, razvoj in zdravje otroka.
Metodologija raziskovanja: Uporabili smo deskriptivno metodo dela z interpretacijo domače in tuje literature.

Theoretical background: Breast-feeding is a natural way of feeding babies and infants. Exclusively breast-feeding in the first six months of a baby’s life ensures optima growth, development and health. Breast-feeding must be comfortable and give the baby and his mother a chance to connect. The goal of this thesis is to present breast-feeding and problems that occur during breast-feeding.
We want to find out whether mothers that answered the questionnaire are well informed about the meaning of breast-feeding solely for them and their baby.
Methodology: Descriptive method of interpretation of different literature was used. The research is founded on qualitative method. The questionnaire contains 22 open-ended and closed questions. Results of the questionnaire were statistically processed and put into graphical illustrations with the help of Microsoft Office Excel.
Results: Results have shown that mothers included in the research are well aveare of the importance of breast-feeding on them end their child. They believe they know enough about breast-feeding, but never the less their knowledge about it is limited. In average these mothers breast-fed their children for four months.
Conclusion: Research shows that women are well informed about breast-feeding, but the percentage of mothers who exclusively breast-feed their children for the first 6 months, is very low. Breast-feeding is natural, but nevertheless it is an art, that needs to be taught. Mothers need professional help to overcome initial breast-feeding problems. |
