Secondary title: | Optimization of web portal čakalne dobe |
Secondary abstract: | Master's thesis deals with development and course of the search engine optimization process made on the case of the portal Čakalne dobe. Development of information retrieval process has emerged in the past few decades. Not long ago the only reliable and virtually the only source of relevant information was a library, where we obtain the relevant information by using librarian's help to find a relevant literature among the bookshelves. Today, most information is obtained over the internet. We are using search engines as the source for finding information we are looking for. The number of visits of the website is largely dependent on the website’s position inside the search engine result pages (SERP). The process which covers the activities to improve the position inside search engine result pages is called search engine optimization (SEO). As part of master thesis, we made a literature review in the field of search engine optimization and we implemented the results on a practical case of web portal Čakalne dobe. We achieved a significant increase of the visits on the portal Čakalne dobe with optimizing certain elements on the website. In addition of search engine optimization, we were also exploring the impact of online advertising on search engines and social media. In conclusion, we prepared a short explanation of results and guidelines for website developers for search engine optimization. |
