Abstract

Magistrsko delo z naslovom Povezava med razumevanjem dvoumnih elektronskih sporočil in stili navezanosti sestavljata dva dela, in sicer teoretični in empirični del. V teoretičnem delu smo opredelili pojem navezanosti, predstavili teorijo navezanosti in opisali vzorce in stile navezanosti v otroštvu, še posebej smo poudarili razvoj navezanosti v odraslosti, ker raziskava zajema populacijo študentov. Preučili smo značilnosti štirih stilov navezanosti pri odraslih. V drugem poglavju teoretičnega dela magistrskega dela smo opredelili pojem komunikacije, predstavili različne oblike komuniciranja in pojasnili značilnosti elektronsko podprte komunikacije. Ker nas zanima, kako študentje razumevajo dvoumna elektronska sporočila, bomo pojasnili prej omenjeni pojem in opisali nekaj pravil elektronsko podprtega komuniciranja.

Secondary title: Relationship Between Understanding Ambiguous Electronic Messages and Attachment Styles
Secondary abstract: This Master's thesis entitled Relationship Between Understanding Ambiguous Electronic Messages and Attachment Styles consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. In the theoretical part we defined the concept of attachment, presented the theory of attachment and described patterns of attachment in childhood. We particularly emphasized the development of attachment in adulthood because the survey covered the population of students. We studied the four adult attachment styles. Furthermore, we defined the concept and different forms of communication, and explained the characteristic of electronically supported communication. Since we are interested in how students understand ambiguous electronic messages, we will explain the previously mentioned concept and describe some of the rules of electronically supported communication. The results in the empirical part were obtained by employing four questionnaires. The latter were completed by 184 students visiting three different faculties from first to fourth year of study. We were interested in the connection between understanding of ambiguous electronic messages and attachment styles of students according to gender. The data obtained were processed using the statistical programme SPSS and various other statistic methods. We learned that there are gender differences in the perception of previously mentioned messages, namely in ways that reflect insecure attachment. The latter was expressed by more male in comparison to female participants. The research has shown that ambiguous electronic messages are more positively understood by those participants who more openly communicate with their peers and express more proximity to and less dependency of attachments. The participants who develop relationship anxiety also understand ambiguous electronic messages in ways that express insecure attachment. We can conclude that the messages in question are more often negatively understood by those who hold a higher result in dismissive avoidant attachment style.
