Abstract

Secondary title: The role of dance therapy in everyday relaxation
Secondary abstract: In the thesis, the role of therapeutic dances at relaxation in everyday life was researched. The dances discussed were studied at dance sessions and in seminars. In detail, four dances were researched: Bach Flower Dances, Nature Dances, Biodanza and 5 Rhythms Dance. All the dances are practiced in different places in Slovenia. In the theoretical part, the types of the dance were demonstrated, analysed and compared, focusing on therapeutic dances. In the practical part of the thesis, my personal observations of dancers who were learning dances, their experiencing and therapeutic effects of different dances are described. I took part at sessions of all the dances discussed, and also taught some of them later on. The research was focused on differences in experiencing at different dances. For this reason, the same questionnaire was used in all the dance groups of 15 dancers each. The research proved the improvement of individuals' well-being at performing dance activity and a positive effect of therapeutic dances on relaxation in every-day life. Most of the dancers feel much better since they have performed therapeutic dances than they felt before which can prove the hypothesis that dance has a positive and healing effect on a human being.
