magistrsko delo
Abstract
Rezultati so predstavljeni v zaključnih poglavjih naloge.

Privacy threats on mobile devices |
Secondary abstract: |
The use of mobile devices is in constant growth, ever since the introduction of the first smartphone. Both technological and societal development have become interdependent with the development of smart mobile devices, internet of things and other various information systems. Everything is mobile, everything is connected, which means that mobile devices store detailed information of its' users and their integration in societal, personal and business environments. Integration of the user in all the mentioned environments and the storing of large sets of data represents a major threat against the user's privacy. Threats, which lie in wait for the mobile device users, can be both direct and latent. Direct threats are defined as malware, tailored for data collection and causing harm to the users, while latent threats collect additional data as a »side process« of primary functionalities of an application. In the master’s thesis, we have carried out a systematical overview of the privacy, threats against the privacy, the functions of major three mobile operating systems and the categorization of data accesses on mobile devices. At the end of the theoretical overview, we present the safeguard measures, which contribute to higher level of user’s safety against data loss. In master’s thesis, we have also concluded an empirical research, in which we have examined correlations between the user’s way of using the mobile device and the security of user’s data. The findings of the empirical research are presented at the end sections of the thesis.
Use of mobile devices is unavoidable in the upcoming societal and technical development. That is why the users must be the first ones to take care of adequate safeguard measures to protect their privacy. |
