In the diploma paper, we have presented the computerised solutions for electronic banking of five Slovenian banks. We have decided to make a research of the chosen theme especially because of the exceptional increase of the electronic banking in our country. The term electronic banking stands for bank services provided to clients, who can be either legal or natural persons, through the electronic trade channels.
The diploma paper is divided to several thematic areas. In the first part, the conception of the electronic banking is explained. We have also described the development of the electronic banking as well as its offer and its trends. In the second part, we have described the producers of the computerised solutions. Among these is the company Hermes Softlab which offers the following solutions: Bančni asistent (bank assisatnat), Večbančni asistent plus (multi-bank assistant plus) and Poslovna VEZ (business bond) for companies, and Bančni asistent (bank assistant) for citizens. The company Halcom offers the Hal E-Bank/WebRetail for personal use on one hand, and the Hal E-Bank/Personal and Hal E-Bank Corporate for companies on the other. We have described the electronic payment transactions of the company Zrcalo, as well as its electronic bank ZRCALO e-banka. The company Adacta offers the solution called AdInetBank.
In the third part, we have described five Slovenian banks which are using different computerised programmes issued by different producers. With reference to the bank Sparkasse, we have described the Net.Stik and Net.Stik PRO for companies, the telebank Tel.Stik, the service centres, and the mobile staff. The bank Banka Koper offers the on-line bank Banka IN, the electronic banking system I-Net, and the telebanking solution Infotel. With regard to the bank Nova Ljubljanska banka, we have described the NLB Klik for natural persons, the NLB Proklik for legal persons, the NLB Moba (mobile bank), and the NLB Teledom. The bank Uicredit offers the following solutions: Online b@nka, E-Bank, and MultiCash (international electronic banking system). And finally, the bank Nova KBM offers the Bank@Net for natural persons, the Poslovni (business) Bank@Net for legal persons, the telebank TeleBanka, and SMS messages. We have also mentioned the safety of the banks` electronic banking.
We have described services provided to the users, the technical requirements for undisturbed computer data processing, and what the users have to buy for the purposes of applying.
The electronic banking is of exceptional importance for the bank – it has not only become a business opportunity but also necessity, if the bank wants to stay competitive. The lack of adequate knowledge and, as a result, mistrust of today`s technology and the safety in the field of electronic banking transactions present the main obstacle for their expansion.
