Abstract

Ljudje smo vse bolj vpeti v svet brezžičnih komunikacij. Lastnosti in omejitve BSO so pogosto pogojene z vrsto uporabe. Program smo poimenovali SPaRCSoft. Za namene validacije programa smo izdelali brezžično senzorsko omrežje, sestavljeno iz osmih senzorskih enot. Delovanje omrežja smo primerjali z simulacijskim modelom v SPaRCSoft programski opremi. Paket strojne in programske opreme, ki omogoča razvoj modeliranje in simulacijo BSO protokolov, smo poimenovali »Academic education Wireless Sensor Network« (AeWSN).

Secondary abstract: Every day people are becoming more and more integrated into digital wireless communications. Smaller, cheaper and more powerful wireless components allow more intensive use of wireless communications in personal and professional use (WiFi, Bluetooth, WiMax, Packet radio, PANs…). Many new areas of usage arise from the conventional wireless communications; one of such area represents Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). In typical use WSN applications consist of a few hundred small, smart, battery powered sensor nodes with capability of wireless communication. Radio range of such a device is relatively small and the devices are generally unusable after battery depletion. Properties and limitations of WSN are often limited with the type of application. Consequently there is a need for to define special adaptive protocols for majority of layers in ISO/OSI communication model. The complexity of that process resulting in high demand and interest for tools which helps planning and testing new concepts and protocols in WSN. For the master thesis we developed modeling tool software for the Wireless Sensor Networks using graph theory and communication channel theory. We call it SPaRCSoft. With the use of a software tool we modeled real-time wireless sensor networks and simulated it. For testing and evaluating purposes we build WSN consisting from eight wireless sensor nodes. Results were comprised with the model modeled in SPaRCSoft. The development of a hardware and software system called “Academic education Wireless Sensor Network” (AeWSN) is still undergoing.
