Abstract

Secondary title: Quality of radio journalism in Slovenia
Secondary abstract: Radio was the first electronic media, and today it has been known for almost 90 years. Together with television and the press, it belongs to the group of traditional and mass media. From the first attempts of transmitting signals at a distance until today, radio has changed significantly, both technically as well as in terms of content. Nevertheless, its main aim is to entertain and inform listeners. To that end, news broadcasting represents a significant part of its program. It is created by journalists, who should report objectively and in accordance with professional standards. Unfortunately they are giving in under the increasing pressure from advertisers, and as a consequence the quality of journalism suffers. The future does not look promising, but we need to act decisively.
