Abstract

»Unit—linked Life Insurance«).

Secondary title: Development and perspective of bancassurance in Slovenia
Secondary abstract: Slovenia has not yet reached the level of development of bancassurance, which is specific for older members of the European Union. Today, the majority of Slovenian banks, offer bancassurance, but they are mostly limited on different types of life insurance, where the most common type is Unit-linked Life Insurance, where the customer bears the investment risk. Banks are also slowly introducing marketing of various forms of property insurance (House insurance, asset insurance, etc.) These types of insurance are very complex (for example, because of the claim settlements) and this is probably the reason why banks will likely never offer this kind of products. In order to do that, banks have to find partners for damage management, call centre providers (where customers can call in case of accident) and assistance companies (which are governing the processes for insurance companies). To sum up the Slovenian banking market is developing insurance products and has a huge potential. Slovenian consumer needs and wants bank insurance services, both because of the way of life and demographic changes. The further potential for banks is mainly in the area of health and pension insurance.
