diplomsko delo visokošolskega študijskega programa
Abstract
Na področju reševanja kemijsko-tehnoloških problemov smo želeli spoznati in preizkusiti tri programske pakete Polymath, Matlab in Excel.
Uporaba paketov in njihova medsebojna povezava je predstavljena na sedmih primerih. Prvi primer je izračun izhodnih koncentracij reaktanta v kaskadi štirih mešalnih reaktorjev. Matematični model je sistem linearnih enačb. Drugi primer je izračun iztokov in sestave iztokov naravnega plina iz uparjalnika, kjer gre za reševanje nelinearne enačbe. Tretji primer je primer termičnega razcepa lahkih ogljikovodikov v olefine. Matematični model je sistem nelinearnih enačb. V četrtem primeru gre za izračun prostornine cevnega reaktorja z navadno diferencialno enačbo. Peti primer je primer pretvorbe glukoze v glukonsko kislino, kjer je potreben izračun sistema diferencialnih enačb. V šestem primeru, je treba oceniti parametre enačbe za molsko toplotno kapaciteto butana s polinomno regresijo. V sedmem primeru so ocenjeni parametri Wagnerjeve enačbe za parni tlak propana z nelinearno regresijo.
Navedeni primeri so rešeni z vsemi tremi programskimi paketi. Na štirih primerih je prikazana tudi povezava med paketi. Iz primerov in povezav ugotovimo, da so dobljene rešitve praktično enake. Najbolj enostaven za uporabo navedenih primerov je programski paket Polymath.

The aim of this thesis was to study and test three software packages - Polymath, Matlab and Excel with regard to the way they help solve problems arising in chemical technology.
The thesis presents the use of these packages and how these are connected using seven examples. The first is the calculation of the outgoing concentration of the reactant in a cascade of four different mixing reactors. The mathematical model for this problem is the system of linear equations. The second example involves a calculation of streams and contents of streams of natural gas from the evaporator, the basis for which is the solving of a non-linear equation. The third example is a case of thermal dissolution of light hydrocarbons into olefins, the mathematical model for this example is the system of non-linear equations. The fourth example involves the calculation of the volume of the flow reactor using a simple differential equation. The following, fifth case involves a transformation of glucose into gluconic acid by calculating a system of differential equations. The sixth example requires the estimation of parameters of polynomial equation for heat capacity of butane with the polynomial regression. The seventh example involves the estimation of the parameters of Wagner equation for vapour pressure of propane with non-linear regression.
The examples listed above are solved by using all three software packages. The description of four of these examples also displays the connection between the packages. Results based on the examples and the connections found have shown that the end solutions are practically the same. The most easy program to use for solving those examples is Polymath software package. |
