Abstract

Secondary title: Magnetically nonlinear dynamic model of a series wound DC motor
Secondary abstract: The thesis presents a magnetically nonlinear dynamic model of a series wound dc motor, derived on the basis of differential equations that describe the dynamics of the motor. From a linear model, two different types of magnetically nonlinear models have been derived, taking into account characteristics of static and dynamic inductances. The thesis also explains methods, performed on a sample motor, for determining parameters and measuring characteristics of magnetic flux linkages needed for simulation calculations. Based on these calculations and the sample motor measurements the criteria for the relevance of the use of each model have been established. All the measurements for the thesis work have been carried out in the Electrical Machines Laboratory at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Maribor.
