ǂthe ǂcase of Google Apps and Office 365
Abstract
Tema tega diplomskega seminarja je uporaba računalništva v oblaku v podjetjih na primeru rešitev Google Apps in Microsoft Office 365. V prvem delu je predstavljeno računalništvo v oblaku, kot tip računalništva, ki omogoča dostop do informacij in virov preko spleta, kadarkoli in kjerkoli. Računalništvo v oblaku temelji na kombinaciji in uporabi več, že do sedaj znanih tehnologij: virtualizacija, spletne storitve, sistemi za upravljanje delovnih procesov in web 2.0. Nekaj pozornosti smo posvetili zgodovini računalništva in ugotovili, da ta tehnologija predstavlja trenutno zadnjo fazo v razvoju računalništva. Vendar pa se računalništva v oblaku ne da preprosto opisati samo z definicijami, saj je sestavljeno iz več plasti, deli pa se tudi na več tipov. Tako je tehnologija sestavljena iz infrastrukture, platforme in programske opreme kot storitve, katere si hierarhično sledijo in dopolnjujejo v prej napisanem vrstnem redu. Prav tako poznamo več različnih tipov računalništva v oblaku: Javni oblak, zasebni oblak, hibridni oblak in skupnostni oblak. Prva dva tipa, javni in zasebni oblak imata vsaka svoje značilnosti, druga dva tipa, hibridni in skupnostni pa predstavljata združitev in kombinacijo javnega ter zasebnega oblaka. Veliko pomembnost predstavlja varovanje podatkov v oblaku, saj se podatki od uporabnika do ponudnika in obratno prenašajo preko interneta in so zato veliko bolj izpostavljeni, kot če bi prenos potekal preko zasebnih omrežij. Pri raziskovanju smo ugotovili, da so varnostne grožnje minimalne in da je tehnologija dokaj varna.
Drugi del dela diplomskega seminarja je posvečen uporabi računalništva v oblaku v podjetjih. Opisali smo pomembnost vključitve računalništva v oblaku v arhitekturo podjetja, ter s tem omogočiti maksimalno izkoriščenost tehnologije pred in po uvedbi v podjetje. Raziskali smo potek uvajanja računalništva v oblaku v podjetje s petimi zaporednimi fazami: raziskava, ocenjevanje, odločanje, uvedba in razširitev. Temu poglavju sledi opis možnosti uporabe računalništva v oblaku v podjetjih. Zadnji del dela diplomskega seminarja je posvečen rešitvam računalništva v oblaku za mala podjetja. V tem poglavju smo raziskali in opisali dve rešitvi podjetja Google, Google Apss in podjetja Microsoft, Microsoft Office 365. Rešitvi sta si med seboj zelo podobni in omogočata podobno funkcionalnost, a vendar je med njima nekaj razlik. Rešitvi smo tako primerjali in poskušali ugotoviti v katerem segmentu je katera rešitev boljša. Skupno bi lahko ocenili, da je rešitev podjetja Microsoft za podjetja bolj primerna.

Theme of this diploma paper is use of cloud computing in small business on the case of Google Apps and Microsoft Office 365. In the first section we presented cloud computing as a type of computing that provides access to information and resources online, which users can access anytime and anywhere. Cloud computing is based on the combination and use of several already known technologies: virtualization, web services, processes management and web 2.0. Some attention was paid to the history of computing and concluded that this technology is currently the last phase in the development of computer science. However, cloud computing cannot be easy to describe inly with definitions. It is composed of several layers and number of different types. Thus, the technology consists of infrastructure, platform and software as a service, which are hierarchically ordered in the previously written order. Also, there are several different types of cloud computing: public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud and community cloud. The first two types of cloud computing, public and private clouds have their own characteristics; the other two types, hybrid and community are merged and combined public and private cloud. Data security represents very important issue in cloud computing, because the data from the user to the provider and vice versa in transmitted through the internet and is therefore much more exposed than it would be as if the transfer was made through private networks. We found that security threats are minimal and that technology is relatively safe.
The second part of this diploma paper is devoted to the use of cloud computing in small business. We described the importance of incorporating cloud computing in the enterprise architecture, and thus allow maximum utilization of technology before and after the implementation in the company. We investigated the course of deployment of cloud computing in the enterprise with five successive phases: research, evaluation, decision making, implementation and expansion. This chapter in followed by a description of ways how to use cloud computing in enterprises. The last part of this diploma paper id dedicated to cloud computing solutions of Google and Microsoft, Google Apps and Microsoft Office 365. The solutions are similar and provide similar functionality, but there are a few differences between them. We compared the solutions and figured which solution is better in different segment. In the total we found that Microsofts solution is better for business use. |
