Abstract
Glavne fenolne spojine v skorji bora so proantocianidini, flavonoidi so prisotni v manjši količini.

Influence of temperature and extraction time on the concentration of antioxidants from conifers |
Secondary abstract: |
Conifer bark contains hydrophilic polyphones, lypophilic resins, essential oil and insoluble substances, such as cellulose and lignin. According to the fact that our country is rich with coniferous forests we were interested in comparing extracts from conifers to pycnogenol, which is made from sea boron. Pycnogenol consists of 50 substances, which have an effect of antioxidant activity. Main phenol compounds in boron bark are proantocianidins, flavonoids are present in a smaller amount. Pycnogenol affects beneficently on circulatory system that is why it is especially recommended to diabetics. It also has positive effects in case of sight problems, that are the consequences of retinopathies, and stimulates the regeneration of smaller skin wounds.
Three different conifer barks were extracted. The samples were marked as A, B and C. In samples content of total phenols, total flavonoids, proantocianidins and antioxidant activity were determined.
The highest concentration of total phenols, total flavonoids, proantocianidins and antioxidant activity were determined samples A and C. The results show that in the samples A and C were extracted the highest content of dry substance, content of common phenols, flavonoids at 100°C. The highest content of proantocianidins and antioxidant activity were determinated for extracts obtained at 80°C. |
