Secondary abstract: | In this diploma we explained mode far-field interference patterns on the end of plastic optical fibers. We also describe the construction of a system that observes changes in the mode interference pattern and from this changes identifies the mechanical effects on the optical fiber. To build this system, it was necessary to produce mode filter. The standard plastic optical fiber with diameter of 1mm was heated and stretched in order to decrease fiber diameter. For that purpose the computer controlled device was developed. This system was used for development of security system for presence detection in the room. |
