Secondary abstract:	This thesis presents the possibility of modifying ordinary diesel locomotives into locomotives with fuel cells. The task contains information on hydrogen, its properties, methods of production and storage. It also describes the fuel cell working operation and characteristics of various types of fuel cells and the history of modifications and prototype projects in rail transport, where they used fuel cells.
