Povzetek

Otroci so naša prihodnost. Poskrbimo, da bo ta lepša in uspešnejša. Poskrbimo, da bodo otroci razvili prave lastnosti in sposobnosti. Začnimo že zgodaj in si zagotovimo bleščečo prihodnost, tako za nas kot za prihodnje generacije. Postavimo trdne temelje, na katerih se bodo izoblikovale izjemne osebnosti. Osnovna šola je prva vzgojno-izobraževalna inštitucija, s katero se srečajo vsi otroci. V njej otroci preživijo največ let in v teh letih doživijo tudi največje spremembe in razvoj. Kakšne bodo te spremembe in kolikšen bo razvoj, na to v veliki meri vpliva šola. Šola potrebuje tudi podporo staršev. Starši in šola naj »z roko v roki« vodijo podmladek v lepšo prihodnost. Ravnatelj, kot najvišji management v osnovni šoli, vpliva na vsakega učenca, če že ne neposredno pa zagotovo posredno. Ravnatelj je tisti, čigar naloga je, da zagotavlja, da je šola primerno okolje za otroke, da se v njej vsi dobro počutijo, da so učitelji primerni za poučevanje, da se krizne situacije rešujejo hitro in pravilno in še bi lahko naštevali. Ravnateljeva vloga je obsežna in zakomplicirana, zato za to mesto ni primeren vsakdo. Izrednega pomena je, da je na to vodilno mesto postavljen pravi človek, ki bo kos nalogam in obveznostim. V njegovih rokah so namreč mlada življenja, ki ne bodo dobila možnosti ponovitve svojih prečudovitih let. Ravnatelj se vsakodnevno srečuje z osnovnimi funkcijami managementa, kot so: planiranje, organiziranje, vodenje in kontroliranje. Od njega se pričakuje, da bo strokovnjak za vsako področje, saj mu skupek tega znanja pomaga biti dober manager. Vsako izmed področij je pomembno samo po sebi, vedno pa moramo nanje gledati kot celoto. Glede teorije okoli managementa v vzgojno-izobraževalnih inštitucijah se pojavljajo raznovrstna mnenja. Največja nasprotja se trejo pri vodenju. Izoblikovali sta se dve skupini. Prva zastopa dejstvo, da moramo vodenje obravnavati ločeno od ostalih funkcij managementa. Druga skupina pa pravi, da je vodenje ena izmed funkcij managementa. Drugi skupini se pridružujemo tudi mi. Vodenje šole ne moremo primerjati z vodenjem kakšnega podjetja, med managementom v šolstvu in managementom v gospodarstvu so velike razlike, katere naj bi ravnatelj poznal. Kako ravnatelji vidijo razlike med managementom v šolstvu in v gospodarstvu in kako vidijo svojo vlogo na šoli, smo preverjali z anonimno anketo v posavskih osnovnih šolah. Analiza anket je pokazala določena odstopanja med teorijo in prakso. Medtem ko med mnenjem ravnateljev in ravnateljic ni prihajalo do nekih bistvenih razlik. Nikoli ne recite, da en človek ne more narediti veliko. Poglejte si samo, na koliko življenj v svojem mandatu vpliva ravnatelj. Ker pa večina ravnateljev ostane na tem delovnem mestu več kot en mandat, je njegov neprecenljiv. Niti pomisliti ne smemo, kolikšno škodo za okolico in družbo povzroči neučinkovit voditelj.

Sekundarni povzetek: Children are our future. Our duty is to make it nice and successful for them. Furthermore, we must provide for them to develop the right qualities and abilities. We have to start at the very early stage in order to assure prosperous future for us as well as for other generations. Strong bases must be set to help them develop their qualities. A primary school is the first educational institution children meet at the very beginning. They spend a lot of years there and during that time they face the biggest changes in their development. The school itself has great impact on their changes and development. School needs support from parents. Only together can they lead them to a better future. A headteacher as the highest management at school has a strong influence on each pupil, if not directly then indirectly. The headteacher is the one whose job is to provide proper environment for pupils where they feel great. He is responsible for choosing the right teachers, solving problems fast and properly etc. His job is extensive and complex and not every one can do it well. It is of vital importance to place the right person on the position of a headteacher. He has to take care of young people who will never get the change to repeat what they had in their early years. Every day the headteacher faces the basic functions of management: planning, organizing, leading and controlling. It is expected that he is an expert on all of these fields because knowing everything can make him a good manager. Each field has its own characteristics but we must look at them as a whole. There are different opinions concerning the theory of management in educational institutions. Leading is the area where people's opinions are most different. Two groups have been formed. The first one supports the idea that leading must be treated separately from other managament functions. The second group shares the opionion that leading is one of management functions. We support the second group as well. School management cannot be compared to a company management. The role of the headteacher is to recognize the differences between school and economic management. An anonymous questionnaire has been used to find out how the headteachers in the Posavje region see the differences between school and economic management. The analysis has shown certain deviations between theory and practice but no major differences are seen in opinions between male and female headteachers. The saying that one man cannot do a lot is wrong. Just imagine how many people a headteacher can have an impact on in his mandate. But the fact is that most of them have more than just one mandate so we can see that his role is priceless. We cannot imagine what damage an unefficient headteacher would do for the environment and the society in general.
