Sekundarni povzetek: | In welds of quenched and tempered (Q + T) high strength low alloyed steels (HSLA) weld strength under matching can be used to satisfy the toughness requirements for the weld deposit. Cost of reduced pre-heating of these steels can be saved if one can prove that use of soft electrodes for root passes do not endanger the overall quality of the joint. The present work deals with the determination of Charpy impact toughness and CTOD fracture toughness of under matched X-grooved multy pass weld joints with soft and without soft root layer mode on HSLA steel (300 mm thick) grade HT 80. CTOD values were clearly influenced by the softer material in the root layer. The metallographical post-test sectioning has revealed the initiation points (LBZs) mainly at the lowest weld metal strength. The aim of this experimental work is to establish the fracture behavior of HLSA multy-pass mismatched welds and to determine the effect of local strength mismatch on fracture toughness and finally to prove that the welding procedure for the weld joint with a soft root layer improves the weld ability of commercial HLSA steel. |
