Z obema skupinama smo izvedli testiranje pred intervencijo in po njej z baterijo nevropsiholoških testov tipa papir-svinčnik in računalniško baterijo CogState.

Cognitive computer training as a completion of additional professional support and its effectiveness for pupils with special needs |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
Studies that research the effectiveness of cognitive training are increasing. However, fewer studies research the effectiveness of computer cognitive training on children with special needs. In the study involving students with special needs, we determined the effectiveness of computer cognitive training - Virtual Labyrinth on student's short-term, working and long-term memory, attention, speed of information processing and enforcement functions, and impact on school performance. The study included 25 pupils, of which 15 were students in the intervention group who performed computer cognitive training 1 time a week, for 45 minutes, a total of 10 repetitions. In the control group, there were 10 pupils who did not have any training. We tested both groups before and after an intervention with a battery of paper-pencil neuropsychological tests and a CogState computer battery. The results did not show statistically significant differences between the trained and the control group in any measured area as a whole, except for the speed-up of information processing (p = 0.01, d = %0.75). On several tests, the statistical significance approached (short-term areas (p = 0.07, d = 0.78), long-term memory (p = 0.08 and 0.07, d = 0.38 and 0.59) functions (p = 0.06, d = 1.07). The descriptive statistics showed that the training improved the cognitive areas measured on most tests and probably the effects were also transferred to other areas (school grades). Based on the results, we concluded that in the future it would be sensible to include computer cognitive training as a means of strengthening cognitive skills, and a neuropsychological test battery should be used for a more accurate insight into the individual's cognitive abilities. |
