Sekundarni naslov: | Discovering new RNA-binding proteins |
Sekundarni povzetek: | RNA-binding proteins are usually thought of as regulators of gene expression at a post-transcriptional level. By binding with multiple domains, they modulate the faith and function of RNA molecules. Throughout the years several hundreds of them were found to bind RNA with well-known domains. Recently interactome-wide studies have contributed to the discovery of several completely unknown RNA-binding proteins with new modes of binding and function. Crucial for their discovery were modern methods for RNA interactome capture and analysis of RNA-protein interactions from a living cell. Furthermore, enormous amounts of data enabled emergence of computational approaches that facilitate the discovery of new modes of binding as well as clarification of the existing ones. In my work I illustrate unconventional ways of binding and expound state-of-the-art methods for the analysis of the RNA-binding proteins. |
