Sekundarni povzetek: The purpose of this diploma was to analyze the number of injuries in sports activities of children in the first three years of primary school. Using a questionnaire for data collection, which contained 15 questions, we surveyed 77 parents of children from the first to thethird grade of primary school in Šmartno ob Paki. Our aim was to determine whether the frequency of injuries varies with the gender of the child and whether the age of the child affects the frequency of injuries. We were also interested in how the involvement or non-involvement of children in various organized sports activities affects the frequency of injuries and which body segments are most commonly injured. We were also interested in the types of injuries and the equipment suitability and it's contribution to safety in sports. The data we obtained was processed by the statistical program SPSS and Microsoft Excel. For all hypotheses we used two way chi-square to calculate differences in proportions. Statistical significance was determined at 5% risk level. In the diploma thesis we found out that the gender and the age of children did not influence the frequency of injuries in sports activities. Likewise the involvement of children in various afternoon activities did not affect the frequency or absence of injuries among the children who attended such activities and those who did not. We found out that most of the injuries occurred on the legs and a little less on the hands. Head was injured the least times. According to the type of injuries, bruises and abrasions occur most often. Appropriate equipment was ussed in most sport activities.
