Sekundarni naslov: Illegal acquisition of offical education documents
Sekundarni povzetek: Plagiarism, forgery and black market for education documents are nowadays a common way of obtaining an academic title. The aforementioned academic dishonesty occurs despite the fact that the violations can be criminally prosecuted, as stated by the Criminal Code and the Statute of the respective university. Plagiarism is also a violation of the copyright of the original author whose ideas the person presents as his own or whose work he copies. An individual who resorts to illegal means of obtaining a professional title is affected by several different individual/psychological and social factors. The higher percentage of plagiarism is thus influenced by digitalisation and the easy accessibility of information online, as well as by the culture and the school system, which is also linked with students' awareness of the concept of plagiarism. In the Slovenian environment, the affairs about illegal acquisition of education documents are more common or more publicly exposed in the public sector. Individuals, who were found guilty of plagiarism or forgery have mostly lost their professional titles or were dismissed from their jobs. Counterfeit diploma can be identified by comparing the document with the agreement on the content and form of diplomas. Plagiarism can be avoided by using paid or free plagiarism detection programs such as Turnitin, DKUM, Free Plagiarism Checker and others, which compare the text with content base. Automated processes for the detection of plagiarism are increasingly used by educational institutions around the world to reduce the incidence of academic dishonesty, although the human eye is still required to determine plagiarism.
