Uvod: Za zagotavljanje kakovostne in varne zdravstvene obravnave sta ključna dejavnika izboljševanje in nadgrajevanje znanja in veščin medicinskih sester ter izboljšanje odnosa do pacientov. Zbrani podatki so bili analizirani z uporabo deskriptivne in inferenčne statistike, natančneje s Pearsonovim korelacijskim koeficientom.

Introduction: Improving and upgrading the knowledge, attitude and skills of nurses is a key factor in ensuring quality and safe healthcare. In the clinical environment, it is necessary to carry out continuous and professional education of nurses. Our purpose was to explore the attitudes, knowledge, and skills of nurses to ensure patient safety. Methods: The quantitative methodology was used. The cross-sectional observational survey data were collected using a standardized questionnaire that measured three areas: attitude, skills, and knowledge of nurses to ensure safety. 172 nurses participated in the study. The internal consistency of the questionnaire was assessed with the Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, more specifically with the Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: The nurses in the clinical setting were found to have average attitudes, skills, and knowledge to ensure patient safety. Their self-assessment knowledge, attitude, and patient quality assurance skills are not related to their work experience in the clinical setting. Discussion and conclusion: The nurses in the clinical settings provide holistic patient care, which means that their priority is to care for patient safety, for which they need appropriate knowledge, a positive attitude and skills. |
