Povzetek

Diplomsko delo z naslovom Preprečevanje stranskih učinkov citostatikov je sestavljeno iz dveh delov. V teoretičnem delu smo na začetku opisali definicijo onkološke zdravstvene nege, kako se deli onkološka zdravstvena nega in razvoj onkološke zdravstvene nege. Nato sledi opis sistemske terapije, ki smo jo razčlenili na citostatsko, hormonsko, imunsko in biološko zdravljenje. Največji poudarek pa je na stranskih učinkih citostatikov in nasvetih medicinske sestre pacientu, kaj lahko sam stori, da prepreči oz. omili stranske učinke citostatikov. V empiričnem delu so predstavljeni rezultati raziskave, opravljene v Univerzitetnem kliničnem centru v Mariboru na Oddelku za hematologijo in hematološko onkologijo in na Oddelku za ginekološko onkologijo in onkologijo dojk. Zanimalo nas je, ali stranski učinki citostatikov vplivajo na izvajanje vsakodnevnih aktivnosti anketiranih pacientov, katere ukrepe za preprečevanje stranskih učinkov citostatikov anketirani pacienti upoštevajo in ali jim zdravstveno osebje poda dovolj informacij o preprečevanju stranskih učinkov citostatikov. Iz rezultatov raziskave je razvidno, da pri več kot polovici anketiranih pacientov stranski učinki citostatikov vplivajo na njihovo izvajanje vsakodnevnih aktivnosti, predvsem ima večina anketiranih pacientov težave pri prehranjevanju. Iz ankete je tudi razvidno, da anketirani pacienti poznajo ukrepe za preprečevanje stranskih učinkov citostatikov in jih upoštevajo. Razvidno je, da večina anketiranih pacientov meni, da jim zdravstveno osebje poda dovolj informacij o preprečevanju stranskih učinkov citostatikov.

Sekundarni povzetek: The diploma thesis with a title Preventing side effects of cytostatic agents is composed of two parts. In the theoretical part, we initially describe the definition of oncology nursing, how oncology nursing is divided and the development of oncology health care. This is then followed by a description of systemic therapy, which was broken down in the cytostatic-, hormone-, immunotherapy and biological therapy. The main emphasis is on the side effects of cytostatic agents and on advice provided by the nurse to a patient, what the patient himself can do to prevent or mitigate the side effects of cytostatic agents. The empirical part of our thesis presents the results of surveys conducted at the University Medical Centre Maribor, Department of Haematology and Haematological Oncology and Department of Gynaecological Oncology and Breast Oncology. We wanted to know whether the side effects of cytostatic agents impact the implementation of the daily activities of interviewed patients, which measures for preventing side effects of cytostatic agents interviewed patients take into account and whether medical staff provides them with sufficient information on the prevention of side effects of cytostatic agents.The results of research indicate that more than half of interviewed patients side effects of cytostatic agents do impact their implementation of daily activities, especially the majority of interviewed patient expressed having problems with eating. The conducted interview also shows that the patients interviewed are familiar with measures for preventing side effects of cytostatic agents and that they consider them. It is clear that most of the interviewed patients believe that their medical staff is providing them with enough information on the prevention of side effects of cytostatic agents.
