S pomočjo PRISMA smernic smo lahko izvedli preglede člankov in jih kritično ocenili z JBI Systematic Review: Study selection and critical appraisal orodjem.

Sekundarni naslov: The effect of vitamin C on the infection with SARS-CoV-2 virus
Sekundarni povzetek: Introduction: Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that, due to its antioxidant abilities, helps the immune system support cellular functions. Covid-19 is a disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Because the SARS-CoV-2 virus causes mild to moderate respiratory disease, sepsis, a strong immune response, and oxidative stress, the fight against the virus is complex. With this diploma thesis we wished to determine the effect of vitamin C on the infection with SARS-CoV-2 virus. Methods: We used an umbrella systematic review of the literature with the method of review, analysis and synthesis of scientific literature, and the method of compilation. With the help of the PRISMA guidelines, we were able to review the articles and critically evaluate them with the JBI Systematic Review: Study selection and critical appraisal tool. The collected data were analysed and synthesized according to the method of thematic assessment. Results: From the selected databases, we collected 645 hits, and 21 of them were used for thematic synthesis. We emphasized the main topic: The effect of vitamin C on the infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus and based on the topic, selected subcategories from which we created free codes. Discussion and conclusion: Vitamin C should be included in the daily diet, because with its beneficial agents, it strengthens the immune system and protects the lung epithelium, as well as other organs from viruses. In high doses, vitamin C is safe and harmless, as it is a water-soluble micronutrient is excreted from the body through the urinary tract.
