Povzetek
Vsak posameznik znotraj svojega življenja išče smisel, za katerega je vredno živeti in za katerega si prizadeva biti uspešnejši. Človek, ki v svojem obstoju ne najde smisla, lahko kaj kmalu zapade v tesnobo in občutek brezpredmetnosti. S prizadevanjem, da vsak posameznik najde svoj smisel in svojo življenjsko nalogo, je psiholog in psihoterapevt dr. Viktor Frankl razvil svojo teorijo imenovano logoterapija.
Cilj magistrskega dela je preučiti ali je vrednotenje smiselnosti življenja in postavljanja življenjskih ciljev povezano z učno uspešnostjo pri mladostnikih. Za namen raziskovanja in zbiranja podatkov smo uporabili prevzeti vprašalnik PIL (Purpose In Life) ali tako imenovano lestvico življenjskih ciljev. V raziskavi je sodelovalo 656 anketiranih mladostnikov, dijakov in dijakinj 2., 3. in 4. letnikov slovenskih srednjih šol. Ugotovili smo šibko vendar pozitivno povezanost vrednotenja smiselnosti življenja in učne uspešnosti, pri čemer so mladostniki, ki so življenje vrednotili kot bolj smiselno dosegali višjo učno uspešnost. Podobno so pokazale analize glede povezanosti postavljanja življenjskih ciljev in učne uspešnosti. Tudi tukaj so mladostniki, ki so si postavljali cilje dosegali višjo učno uspešnost. Preverjali smo tudi (ne)odločenost mladostnikov, kaj želijo v življenju početi v povezavi z učno uspešnostjo. Mladostniki, ki so odločeni, kaj želijo delati v življenju so dosegali višje akademske uspehe od tistih, ki so neodločeni.

Evaluation of life's meaning and goal setting in connection to academic success among adolescents |

Every individual looks for meaning in their life that is worth living for and which drives them to be more successful. A person who does not find meaning in their existence can quickly develop anxiety and a sense of pointlessness. In his efforts for each individual to find meaning for themselves as well as their life's mission, psychologist and psychotherapist Dr. Viktor Frankl developed his theory termed logotherapy.
The aim of the master's thesis is to examine whether the evaluation of the meaning of life and the setting of life goals is related to the academic performance in adolescents. In order to conduct our research and collect data, we used the PIL (Purpose In Life) questionnaire or the so-called life goals scale.
The survey included 656 adolescent respondents, i.e. male and female students in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years of Slovenian secondary.
We found a weak but positive correlation between the value attributed to the meaningfulness in life and academic performance, whereby adolescents who see life as more meaningful achieved higher academic performance. Analyses of the interrelationship between the setting of life goals and academic performance have shown similar results. Here, as well, adolescents who set goals for themselves attained higher academic performance results. We also looked into the (in)decisiveness of adolescents about what they want to do in life in relation to academic performance. Adolescents who have firmly decided what they want to do in life achieved better academic performance results than those who have not made such a decision. |
