Sekundarni povzetek:	Our time is a time of numerous technologies that allow us to spend less energy in doing everyday chores, enhance business productivity, etc. In the past 25 years we have witnessed an incredibly rapid development of computing, integrated circuits, programs and other similar technologies. One can barely imagine a home that would not have at least one computer, one digital television, one mobile phone and one navigation device. The world of business and economy shows an even greater need of the mentioned devices – we cannot imagine keeping records of stocks of goods or issuing invoices with pen and paper. Staying informed about the locations of numerous buses with, for example, the help of telephones would also be extremely impractical, were it not for navigation devices. Global navigation satellite systems are the main theme of the following thesis. I have decided to explore this topic as most people do not realize that a satellite navigation system is actually much more than that small box in the car which effortlessly guides us to a certain adress. Furthermore, not many of us are aware of the quantity of effort and the number of complex technologies that are needed for that small device to start working properly and giving us the right instructions. In my thesis I will concentrate on global navigation satellite systems that are already in use or will be shortly and also on those soon to be developed. Additionally, I will describe satellite positioning theory, mistakes that can occur therein and processes for their removal as well as processes for the improvement of accuracy. Since I would like my thesis to aid not only everyday users but also eager researchers who want to include satellite navigation as part of their projects, I will concentrate on the programming and designing aspects needed to make the aforementioned devices as well as the preparation of one's own cartography.
