diplomsko delo
V raziskavah so bili vključeni zdravstveni delavci (zaposleni v zdravstveni negi in zdravniki).

Burnout among health care workers |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
Introduction: Statistically, the field of nursing ranks among the professions with the highest prevalence of burnout syndrome. Due to constant necessary empathy and communication with patients and their families, along with other stressors such as overtime, shift work, and working during holidays, healthcare workers may experience dissatisfaction and distress, impacting both personal and professional relationships and ultimately affecting physical health. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to raise awareness of burnout among healthcare workers and identify preventive and curative strategies to reduce burnout. Methods: A descriptive method was employed, involving a review of domestic and foreign literature using keywords such as burnout, frequency, strategies. Data was sourced from the PubMed/Medline databases accessed through remote DiKul. The literature selected for analysis ranged from 2013 to 2023, encompassing 22 articles in both Slovenian and English. The research included healthcare professionals such as healthcare technicians and physicians. Results: It is observed that the number of healthcare workers suffering from burnout syndrome is increasing. Burnout is present on all continents and within various healthcare organizations, leaving destructive consequences on patients, healthcare organizations, and employees. The use of techniques to reduce burnout is crucial, but their application is not straightforward, requiring cooperation between healthcare institutions and individuals. Discussion and Conclusion: It is essential to bring attention to burnout syndrome within healthcare organizations and attempt to halt further burnout among healthcare workers. It is also crucial to provide and promote tools for healthcare workers to combat burnout and feel capable of coping with this syndrome. The incorporation of clinical psychologists, therapeutic team-building groups, changes in schedules, and workplace arrangements could be pivotal in the fight against burnout syndrome. |
