Sekundarni povzetek:	The aim of my thesis was to introduce characteristics of drug use and handling of female drug users in prison. Drugs have become easily available, the reasons for the use vary; some of the users just want to have fun or relax, while the others seek comfort. Sometimes the drug use can perpetuate from recreational use to addiction and that is when the problem arises, as the individual is no longer a »respectable« member of society. In the theoretical part, I described a way from addict to prisoner, who participates in an addiction handling of illegal drugs, and later on again to a free man. I was especially attentive of the handling of the addiction of illegal drugs in prison. The main purpose of the empirical part is, to thoroughly research the illegal drug use characteristics and handling of women drug users in the women's prison Ig. In the empirical part I put my theory to the test, based on the seven interviewees', who decided to share their life stories, answers. The central part of the research was how the convicts see the addiction handling, their experiences and what kind of problems do they face as (ex) addicts. They shared the reasons why they started using drugs, about what they go through in prison, and how they see the future, etc. The main findings are: firstly, the interviewees' are mainly dissatisfied with the addiction handling and want to work with outworkers, secondly, the safety factors, risk factors of drug use and the factors, which protect from return of the illness, as pointed out by the interviewees, mostly coincide with those in theory. Extra emphasis was put on the family and the meaning of it. I established that the most of the interviewees do not have a formed plan, after the release from the prison.

Povzetek (ePrints):	V diplomskem delu sem skušala predstaviti značilnosti uporabe drog in obravnave uporabnic prepovedanih drog v zaporih. Droge so postale lahko dostopne, razlogi za uporabo pa so različni; nekateri po njih posežejo zaradi zabave ali sprostitve, pri drugih pa je razlog tolažba. Včasih lahko uporaba drog iz rekreativne preide v odvisnost in takrat lahko nastane problem, če posameznik ni več »vzoren« član družbe. V teoretičnem delu sem opisala pot od odvisnika do zapornika, ki sodeluje pri obravnavi odvisnosti od prepovedanih drog, in kasneje ponovno svobodnega človeka. Posebno pozornost sem namenila obravnavi odvisnosti od prepovedanih drog v zaporu. Glavni namen empiričnega dela je raziskati značilnosti uporabe prepovedanih drog in obravnave uporabnic prepovedanih drog v ženskem zaporu na Igu. V empiričnem delu sem teorijo preverila na podlagi odgovorov sedmih intervjuvank, ki so pripovedovale svojo življenjsko zgodbo. Osrednja tema raziskovanja je pogled obsojenk na obravnavo odvisnosti, kakšna so njihova doživljanja, s kakšnimi problemi se spopadajo kot (bivše) odvisnice. Spregovorile so tudi o vzrokih za začetek uporabe drog, o tem, kaj doživljajo sedaj v zaporu, kakšni so njihovi pogledi na prihodnost itd. Glavne ugotovitve so: prvič, da so intervjuvanke v večini nezadovoljne z obravnavo odvisnosti in si želijo novih oblik obravnave z zunanjimi sodelavci, in drugič, da se varovalni dejavniki, dejavniki tveganja za uporabo drog in dejavniki, ki varujejo pred recidivom, kot so jih izpostavile intervjuvanke, v večini enaki ali podobni tistim, ki so navedeni v teoriji. Poseben poudarek je namenjen družini in njenemu pomenu. Ugotovila sem tudi, da večina intervjuvank še nima izoblikovanega načrta za življenje po odpustu iz zapora.
