Sekundarni naslov: Children's rights – their opinios count
Sekundarni povzetek: Children’s rights remain a current topic also in our days. The human civilization represents a history of wars and violence. Children were victims of violence trough the history and remain contemporary. The children’s status has changed through centuries. Only for little more than a century, children are also a subject, not only an object of the human rights. Children’s rights were assured trough argumentation, giving evidence and numerous cases of “torment” which is a synonym for children’s rights deprivation. In the EU, children’s rights are broken by adults and mostly in educational institutions. Our juridical regulation of children’s rights is the Convention of Children’s rights signed by the majority of countries in 1989. In spite of this fact, many cases of violence of children’s rights were detected. Children do not have equal rights at school, at home they are exposed to torment, poverty is often a reason for social exclusion, immigrants and minorities are not treated equally. One of the basic children’s rights is the right to express their own opinion. Adolescents are aware of their rights; they are aware of violations of the rights and have suggestions for improvements in assuring them.

Otroci so bili v zgodovini in danes žrtve nasilja. Otrokove pravice so bile pravno pridobljene skozi argumentiranja, dokazovanja in številne primere »trpinčenja«, ki ga nekateri enačijo s kratenjem otrokovih pravic. Otroci nimajo enakih pravic v šolah, v družini so deležni trpinčenja, revščina je pogost razlog za socialno izključenost, priseljenci in manjšine niso deležni enakopravnega obravnavanja in enakih možnosti.
