Sekundarni povzetek:	My graduation thesis treats the expressway Koper – Izola. More exactly it discusses two new alternatives Škocjan – Izola and it compares them with the route of the road from the detailed plan of national importance. The planning of the two new variants bases on the road designing rule-book and is totally made with a computer program. The road connection Izola – Koper comes across many troubles, so I wanted examine if the coastal expressway route is better than the two variants, in past projected through the Olmo valley. Since than Koper city have expanded, so I can't consider to separate the city in two parts and adequately connect this road segment with the expressway Koper – Dragonja (right now in phase of projecting) through Škocjan and Šalara towards Šmarje. The main problem of the route Koper – Izola is that runs on hilly area and it confines with the see and half-salt swamp on the one side and large agrarian valleys on the other side, so the two tunnels in joint length about 2 km are obligatorily considerable. The comparison was developed on basis of traffic criteria, technical criteria, cost criteria and with including the criteria of the influences on the environment and regional development. The results of the study show us, that the variant of route through Olmo is an opportune variant instead the coastal expressway route, even if is longer for more than 2 km, but it doesn't interfere in the Koper city and it can be used as a south bypass of Koper in the future. The variant two, through Stara Šalara is on basis of this criteria the last considered.
