Sekundarni povzetek: Nanotechnology is a very promising and fast-developing industry. Its products are nano-particles which have special characteristics and are fundamentally different from bigger particles with the same chemical properties. The purpose of this diploma thesis was to observe and determine the effects of nano-particles TiO2 leaf-treatment on growth and development of sunflowers. Sunflowers were grown in growth chambers. After three weeks we applied foliar treatment on old leaves. Out of 15 plants, we treated 5 with standard form and 5 with nano-form of TiO2. The remaining 5 were used as a control group. We measured the concentration of photosynthetic pigments and determined the concentration of elements in organs of plants by means of TXRF method. We also determined the content of Ti and its transport index. The results showed that form of treatment effects concentration of photosynthetic pigments, concentration of content of Ti in plants, its transport index and morphological development of plants. Plants that were treated with nano-form of TiO2 were morphologically less developed, although they had bigger dry biomass in comparison to the standard form of treatment. Furthermore, supply of K and Ca was also disturbed.

Povzetek (ePrints): Nanotehnologija je zelo obetajoča in hitro razvijajoča se industrija. Njeni produkti so nanodelci, ki jih odlikujejo posebne lastnosti, te pa se bistveno razlikujejo od lastnosti večjih delcev enake kemijske sestave. Namen naloge je bil preučiti vplive listnega tretiranja z nanodelci TiO2 na rast in razvoj sončnic. Sončnice smo gojili v rastnih komorah. Po treh tednih smo foliarno tretirali stare liste. Od 15 rastlin smo jih 5 tretirali s standardno obliko, 5 z nano obliko TiO2, preostalih 5 rastlin pa je bilo kontrolnih. Izmerili smo koncetracije fotosinteznih pigmentov ter določili koncentracije elementov v rastlinskih organih s pomočjo TXRF metode. Določili smo tudi vsebnost Ti in njegov transportni indeks. Rezultati so pokazali, da oblika tretmaja vpliva na koncentracijo fotosinteznih pigmentov, na koncentracijo in vsebnost Ti v rastlinah, na njegov transportni indeks ter morfološki razvoj. Rastline tretirane z nano obliko TiO2 so bile morfološko najslabše razvite, vendar so imele večjo suho biomaso od standardne oblike tretmaja. Poleg tega, pa je bila motena tudi preskrba rastline s K in Ca.
