Sekundarni povzetek: In the first part of the thesis, I describe and partly derive some important concepts in differential geometry of surfaces: surface parameterization, the first and the second fundamental form, the principal radiuses of curvature, Gaussian and mean curvature. In the second part of the thesis I use a short program in Mathematica, in order to plot some surfaces (sphere, ellipsoid, spherical dome, spherical ellipsoid, paraboloid, elliptic paraboloid, hyperbolic paraboloid, cylinder, cone, torus, hiperboloid, catenoid) and show how Gaussian and mean curvature and principale radiuses of curvatures change on these surfaces. At the end of the thesis I use a program named Rhinoceros, for drawing and analysing some more complex surfaces.

Povzetek (ePrints): V prvem delu diplomske naloge predstavim in tudi deloma izpeljem pomembne pojme v diferencialni geometriji ploskev: parametrizacijo ploskve, prvo in drugo osnovno formo, glavna radija ukrivljenosti, Gaussovo in povprečno ukrivljenost. V drugem delu naloge predstavim in uporabim kratek program v Mathematici, s katerim izrišem nekaj ploskev (sfero, elipsoid, sferično kupolo, sferični elipsoid, paraboloid, eliptični paraboloid, hiperbolični paraboloid, valj, stožec, torus, hiperboloid in katenoid) in prikažem, kako se spreminjajo Gaussova in povprečna ukrivljenost ter glavna radija ukrivljenosti po ploskvi. Na koncu diplomske naloge uporabim program Rhinoceros za izris in analizo nekaj bolj zapletenih ploskev.
